Sin Tally!
What happens when your entire life is summed up and the tally is finished? Are you going to be presented with a bill to pay? Are you going to be doing some things over again, till you “get it right”? What if your life is weighted on a scale and the good things weigh 49%, and the bad things weigh 51%? What if after you die you find yourself on “The Wheel of Fortune” and that big colorful spinning wheel has on it different options instead of numbers—heaven, hell, reincarnation, purgatory, limbo, emptiness, darkness, pain, despair, and everything else that could frighten you to come to your senses. And then Saint Peter says, "Your Turn, spin the wheel and good luck!"
You want to live to a ripe old age with few physical discomforts right? If you were asked if you read your Bible what would your answer be? Don’t have enough time, too busy, can’t understand all that language, it doesn’t apply to me anyway, I’ll let the preacher do his job and I’ll do mine. Maybe you will be interested in this little fact, the New Testament book of Romans says that, “Each of us will give an account of himself to God.” Romans 14:12
If you’re keeping a personal diary, it won’t do any good to erase all those pages and rewrite them: God has an accounting staff that makes no errors. Life after death is really all that should matter to all of us. Does 70 or 80 or even 90 years in life really compare to eternity? Does 100+? God has already prepared everything needed for those after death. But we have more to do than just wait for our turn at death. We have to take an initiative to show God we have been paying attention to His grand plan. Read John 3:16 to learn what God did and what we should do in response. If you’re too busy to read that one beautiful verse, you may want to read John 3:18 and see what will happen (To You Personally) if you don’t take things seriously.
Your sin tally is being recorded daily. Are you changing the sum total? God has given His only begotten son—what have you given?
