Next Generation Doctors?

Who’s not relieved to hear that voice say: “The doctor will see you now.” But wait a minute, what if the voice calling you is a computer, and the receptionist is a computer terminal, and the doctor is a computer hybrid?!
Welcome to the twenty-first century those of you who are still human.
Yep, there are computer doctors on the horizon. Actually, they are here doing work now supporting human
Robotic Doctors of the future
doctors, nurses, hospitals and healthcare facilities. It is information technology supported by venture capitalists, Silicon Valley, entrepreneurs, many physicians, medical sales personnel, pharmaceutical conglomerates, schools of medicine, and insurance companies are involved and on-board, saying it will eliminate physician mistakes and give a more accurate diagnosis. Legislative enactment and involvement probably isn’t far behind. One sign that medical care is in the midst of a transformation, is the extraordinary rise in demand for information-technology workers within the health-care sector. Hospitals are desperate for people who can understand and develop new information systems—then manage them. Hmmm! We might be asking to see the “Bot” not the “Doc”? Instead of seeing who the Doctor is, we might be seeing what the doctor is.

This scenario could very well describe the church 2000 years ago. The old Jewish nation had been under the Mosaic Law for centuries and then a new religion springs up asking them to trust in a new belief system. What
once was; “I’ll believe it when I see it”, turned into, “Even though I’ve seen it, I don’t believe it.” The only Bible that existed was the Old Testament scrolls. The New Testament hadn’t been written yet. There was various prophets claiming to be this or that, but one fellow was different. Verrry different! This fellow was the son of a carpenter from Nazareth. He not only practiced what he preached, he had the proper credentials to back up his claims.
He was a new generation doctor who healed by simply speaking to his patients. Jesus healed young and old, rich and poor, the demon possessed and those needing healing. Even John the Baptist, who was in prison, had some doubts about this miracle worker. Jesus sent word back to John, “Go back and report to John what you have seen and heard: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is preached to the poor.” (Luke 7:22)
No one knew how this was being done; everyone was amazed at the results. Jesus had many who doubted his credentials, so he laid it out in no uncertain terms, “Even though you do not believe me, believe the miracles, that you may know and understand that the Father is in me, and I in the Father.” (John 10:38) Really; was that asking too much for ‘spectators’? Jesus was saying though you do not credit me, yet consider my works, for they prove that I came from God. For no one could do these things unless he was from God. Let’s look back in the book of John. “I have testimony weightier than that of John. For the work that the father has given me to finish, and which I am doing, testifies that the father has sent me. And the father who sent me has himself testified concerning me”. John 5:36 This shows Jesus and God are intimately connected. Need more? Check out Matthew 11:27 “All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him”. Has Jesus not revealed himself to you? He is now!
From the Mosaic Law to the works of Jesus Christ, from following strict rules to grace, from anxiety to peace: at the very least believe the results.
The human body is a treasure trove of mysteries and miracles—to you. Not to God. Fact is, your body doesn’t belong to your family, your spouse, or yourself. You belong to God. Declares the Sovereign Lord: “For every living soul belongs to me”. Ezekiel 18:4
