Joseph in Egypt. Moses in the desert. Joshua in Arabia. Jesus in the desert. Every major figure in the Bible has been tested by the sands of time. When your time of testing comes, you too will be confronted by the sands of time...
Joseph endured separation from his family, but left instructions for his bones to be carried into the Promised Land. Moses lingered forty years wandering in the wilderness before finally seeing the Promised Land. Joshua battled doubters and skeptics before taking possessions of the Promised Land. Jesus was tempted by Satan for forty days in the wilderness before beginning his ministry—in the Promised Land.
The sands of time touch everyone. Everyone is tried and tested. It may be a spectacular desert experience or a brief moment in time, but everyone will experience it. And everyone will fail! Why, because this third rock from the sun has been dipped in sin and it contaminates everyone that comes into contact with it: with one exception. There was only one person who touched the sands of time, but the sands of time never touched Him. Jesus was the only one who came to earth and lived a perfect life. He lived a good life to show us that it could be done.
“Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of [our] faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.”
